Best of 2025

Here they are in order:

1. Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
This fantasy is unlike any I have ever read and still has me thinking even now. The world building is amazing, and the storytelling mesmerized me.
2.  A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay
Psychological Horror at its best. This book drew me in with the characters and story, and the suspense built up throughout. Wow!
3. A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore
This is a crazy contemporary horror with wild humor throughout. I couldn’t stop laughing my way through a very intense story about what happens to your soul when you die!
4. Disappearance at Devil’s Rock by Paul Tremblay
He hit it out of the park again. I couldn’t put the book down and kept thinking about it when I had to. He does so well with his characters and story.
5. The Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman
A dark and gritty fantasy set in a world no one would want to live in. But instead of being overly dark and depressing, he fills it with snarky humor that fit the main character’s personality perfectly. The stakes were just right and the pacing never let up–except during those moments when it should.
